On 29 October 1694 Marmaduke Shepley was appointed trustee of Batley Grammar School.2
In 1696 Marmaduke Shepley was Constable of Batley.3
In 1698 Marmaduke Shepley was trustee and also one of supervisors of will of Joshua Brooke of Batley.4

He, transcribed as Jeremy Shepherd of Batley, married Jane Raynor of Scholecroft on 18 August 1725 at St. Peter's, Leeds,
by licence.
At the time of obtaining probate for his mother's will in 1734 Jeremiah was described as of Morley.
In 1741 Jeremiah Shepley voted for George Fox, the Tory candidate, in the parliamentary election for the County . The seat was won by the Whig candidate, Mr Cholmley Turner.
In 1742 Jeremiah Shepley was a tithe gatherer, and it must have been in this connection that he prepared the map shown here, surveyed for John Copley Esquire.

Jeremiah Shepley died on 13 February 1745/46.3
