Relationship=2nd cousin 4 times removed of Vivien Eley.
Sarah Law was born circa 1835 at Stockport. She was the daughter of Samuel Law. This at least seems to be the family supposition, she was married as Samuel's daughter, and it is worth noting that she had a son called Samuel Law Crosland. I have not been able to find a baptism for her or any evidence of a marriage for Samuel, who I cannot find in 1841. Living with widowed Lydia in Stockport at that time, however, it seems fairly sure that she must be a grandaughter.
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as in the household of Lydia Law at Wall St, Heaton Norris, Stockport.1
Sarah Law married William Crossland, son of Robert Crosland and Sarah (?), on 4 February 1856 Married as Sarah daughter of Samuel Law, overlooker, and William son of Robert Crossland, clothier. Witnesses were Thomas Scholefield and Joseph Chadwick.2
In the census of 7 April 1861 Sarah Crosland was listed at Spring Gardens, Batley, as wife of William Crossland.3
In the census of 2 April 1871 Sarah Crosland was listed at Spring Gardens, Batley, as wife of William Crossland.4
In the census of 3 April 1881 Sarah Crosland was listed at Spring Gardens, Batley, as wife of William Crossland.5
In the census of 5 April 1891 I think it probable that Sarah and William were the William and Sarah Crossland listed as visitors in the household of Eliza Reeves, (a widowed householder aged 66 born in London who also has two other guests, actors Frank and Annie Howarth) at 22 Leaf St, Hulme, Manchester. Sarah's place of birth is given as Stockport, whilst that of William I read as Leighton, but that could be a mistake for Lepton.6
In the census of 31 March 1901 Sarah Crosland was listed at 10 Queen St, Batley, as wife of William Crossland.7
Sarah Law died on 16 February 1908; aged 73.8
