     Joseph Nussey had an interest in the family firm, Nussey & Walker, woollen mfrs. He was born on 7 June 1797 at Batley.¹ He was the son of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. Joseph Nussey was baptized on 2 July 1797 at Batley as son of John and Eleanor.¹
He died in 1846.

     Joshua Nussey was born circa 1799. He was the son of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. Joshua Nussey died in 1871.

     Mercy Mary Nussey was born on 14 April 1801.¹ She was the daughter of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. Mercy Mary Nussey was baptized on 7 June 1801 at Batley as daughter of John and Eleanor.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as the daughter of Ellen Nussey at Brookroyd House, Batley.²
Mercy Mary Nussey died in 1886.

     Richard Nussey was born in 1803. He was the son of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. Richard Nussey married Elizabeth Charnock.
Richard Nussey Inherited uncle Richard Nussey's interest in the family's mills at Birstall: also leased New Mill, Holbeck. Later inherited father-in-law's two mills at Meadows lane, Leeds. He was; said to have built Brookroyd House.¹ He died in 1872.

     Elizabeth Charnock married Richard Nussey, son of John Nussey and Ellen Wade.

     Sarah Walker Nussey was born in 1809. She was the daughter of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. Sarah Walker Nussey died in 1843.

     George Nussey was born in 1814. He was the son of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. George Nussey died in 1885.

     This was the Ellen Nussey who was a friend of Charlotte Bronte. She was born in 1817. She was the daughter of John Nussey and Ellen Wade. Ellen Nussey attended Roe Head School where Margaret Wooler was headmistress, and where she met Charlotte Bronte. Ellen Nussey died in 1897.

     Richard Walker was born in 1772. He was the son of John Walker and Elizabeth Booth. Richard Walker married Mary Taylor, daughter of John Taylor and Mary Hainsworth, on 25 July 1798.¹
Richard Walker died in 1826.

     Mary Taylor from Purlwell Hall. Said to have brought £20,000 to the marriage. She was born in 1771. She was the daughter of John Taylor and Mary Hainsworth. Mary Taylor married Richard Walker, son of John Walker and Elizabeth Booth, on 25 July 1798.¹
Mary Taylor died on 21 April 1847. She was buried on 28 April 1847 at Batley ; as of The Ridings, Birstall.²

     John Walker married Elizabeth Booth.
John Walker was born in 1742. He was the son of William Walker and Mary Newsome. John Walker died in 1796.

     Elizabeth Booth married John Walker, son of William Walker and Mary Newsome.
Elizabeth Booth was born in 1742.

     William Walker of Birstall Smithies. He was born in 1698. He married Mary Newsome on 24 November 1732 at Coley.
William Walker died in 1769.

     Mary Newsome of Castle Hill House. She was born in 1711. She married William Walker on 24 November 1732 at Coley.
Mary Newsome died in 1787.

     Richard Walker was born in 1749. He was the son of William Walker and Mary Newsome. Richard Walker was described as of at the Ridings, Birstall.¹ He died in 1817.

     John Wade was baptized on 27 December 1765 at Batley.¹

     George Nussey was born in 1767. He was the son of Joshua Nussey and Mercy Walker. George Nussey died in 1824.

     William Nussey was born in 1772. He was the son of Joshua Nussey and Mercy Walker. William Nussey died in 1810.

     Cyril Theodore Stubley was born on 1 December 1889. He was the son of John Stubley and Adeline Taylor.
In the census of 31 March 1901he was at Rhyl, Flintshire, a schoolboy on holiday with his brother Cyril and a nurse.¹
In the census of 2 April 1911 he was listed as a woollen cloth manufacturer the son of Adeline Stubley at The Uplands, Batley.²
Cyril Theodore Stubley married Ethel Mary Blackburn, daughter of John William Blackburn and Eliza Rebecca Sheard, on 2 May 1916 at Zion Chapel, Batley, Witnesses were David Stubley, Adeline Stubley, John W Blackburn and Eliza Rebecca Blackburn.³

     John Stubley was born on 14 April 1850. He was the son of James Stubley and Sarah Fox.
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as as a scholar aged 10 the son of James Stubley at Albert Street, Batley.¹
John Stubley was educated at Batley Grammar School and later at Silcoates School.
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as a woollen manufacturer the son of James Stubley at Albert Terrace, Batley.²
John Stubley married Adeline Taylor, daughter of Joshua Taylor and Alice Cooke, on 13 June 1875 at the Congregational Church, Batley.
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as the head of household at Grange Villa, Batley Field Hill, Batley, as a woollen manufacturer aged 30.³
He was to be found in the census of 5 April 1891 at Hazelwood Hydropathic Establishment, Grange over Sands, apparently taking the waters.⁴
In 1896 brothers John and David Stubley were in charge of the Batley mills following the death of their father in that year.
John Stubley was an office bearer in Hanover Street Congregational Church.⁵
In the census of 31 March 1901 he was listed as the head of household at Carlton Grange, Batley, as a woollen manufacturer.⁶
In 1909 John Stubley was living at The Uplands, Batley, purchased in that year.
John Stubley was elected Mayor in 1909 on the enlargement of the Borough, by the inclusion therein of Soothill Upper, an outlying district, and for a second term in 1910-11, the Coronation Year of George V.⁷
He was Elected a Batley Alderman in 1910.⁵
He was Member of National Liberal, London, and Batley Liberal Clubs.⁵
He died on 21 April 1911 at age 61.

     Adeline Taylor was born on 16 November 1851 at Carlinghow, Batley. She was the daughter of Joshua Taylor and Alice Cooke.
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as a scholar aged 9 the daughter of Joshua Taylor at Healey Bottom, Batley.¹
In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as the daughter of Joshua Taylor at Healey, Batley.²
Adeline Taylor married John Stubley, son of James Stubley and Sarah Fox, on 13 June 1875 at the Congregational Church, Batley.
In the census of 3 April 1881 Adeline Stubley was listed at Grange Villa, Batley Field Hill, Batley, as wife of John Stubley.³
In the census of 2 April 1911 she was listed as the head of household at The Uplands, Batley, a cook, sewing maid, parlourmaid and housemaid are present.⁴
Adeline Taylor died on 13 October 1933 at age 81.

     Charles Henry Stubley was born on 24 June 1876. He was the son of John Stubley and Adeline Taylor. Charles Henry Stubley died on 26 June 1876.

     Lilian Alice Stubley was born on 20 January 1878. She was the daughter of John Stubley and Adeline Taylor. Lilian Alice Stubley died on 1 February 1880 at age 2.

     Sarah Constance Adeline Stubley was born in 1880. She was the daughter of John Stubley and Adeline Taylor. In the census of 3 April 1881 she was listed as aged 11 months the daughter of John Stubley at Grange Villa, Batley Field Hill, Batley.¹

Sarah Constance Adeline Stubley married Edward Hill Fitch, son of Thomas Fitch, on 8 March 1906 at Hanover St Congregational church, Batley.³
Sarah Constance Adeline Stubley died on 6 February 1968.

     Edward Hill Fitch was born in 1875 at Howden, Yorkshire. He was the son of Thomas Fitch. In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as the head of household at Commercial Street, Batley, as a bank cashier.¹
Edward Hill Fitch married Sarah Constance Adeline Stubley, daughter of John Stubley and Adeline Taylor, on 8 March 1906 at Hanover St Congregational church, Batley.²
In the census of 2 April 1911 he was listed as the head of household at 10 Belmont Terrace, Batley, as a bank manager, now with two small daughters. A nurse and a general servant are employed.
Edward Hill Fitch was residences in 1926 at Nethercroft, Upper Batley.³ He died on 16 December 1953.
