      Martha Woffenden was also known as Martha Wovenden. She was born on 26 September 1781.¹ She was the daughter of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. Martha Woffenden was baptized on 29 October 1781 at Batley.¹

      Squire Woffenden was also known as Squire Wovenden. He was born on 21 January 1784.¹ He was the son of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. Squire Woffenden was baptized on 11 April 1784 at Batley.¹
He joined the Army, serving in the 34th Regiment through the Peninsular War. He attained the rank of Sergeant Major, and was awarded a Campaign Medal with 8 clasps representing battles he had fought in.² Squire Woffenden heard of Catherine Exley's presence in Ireland and was ready to contact her with a remittance to help her reach her husband Joshua, also of his regiment and from Batley, when she arrived where he was located.

On 21 September 1829 Squire Woffenden was was one of the first recruits in the Metropolitan Police founded by Sir Robert Peel in that year, his warrant number being 679. Records show him as being attached to F division.
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Berwick Row, Miller St, Manchester, as a cloth maker aged 55.³
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Miller St, Manchester, as a pensioner, Chelsy (sic).⁴

     Mary Woffenden was born on 15 April 1786 at Batley. She was the daughter of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. Mary Woffenden was baptized on 4 June 1786 at Batley.¹

     Sarah Woffenden was born on 26 December 1788.¹ She was the daughter of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. Sarah Woffenden was baptized on 25 January 1789 at Batley.¹

      William Wovenden was also known as William Woffenden. He was born on 21 July 1794.¹ He was the son of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. William Wovenden was baptized on 17 September 1794 at Batley.¹
He married Hannah (?).
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Shude Hill, Manchester, as a confectioner.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at 86 Shudehill, Manchester, as a confectioner.
William Wovenden married Jane Lumley in 1861.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at 86 Shude Hill, Manchester, as a confectioner.

     John Woffenden was born on 20 July 1797. He was the son of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. John Woffenden was baptized on 29 October 1797 at Batley.¹
He died in August 1807 at age 10. He was buried on 25 August 1807.¹

     George Woffenden was born on 14 January 1802.¹ He was the son of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. George Woffenden was baptized on 2 March 1802 at Batley.¹

     James Woffenden was born on 9 April 1805.¹ He was the son of William Woffenden and Grace Allott. James Woffenden was baptized on 8 July 1805 at Batley.¹

     Mary Walker was born on 17 June 1852. She married Edwin Constantine Colbeck, son of James Colbeck and Amelia Garret, in 1870.
In the census of 2 April 1871 Mary Colbeck was listed at Hope Street, Dewsbury, as wife of Edwin Constantine Colbeck.¹
Mary Walker died on 21 March 1882 at age 29.

     Elizabeth Ann Sheard was born in May 1846. She was the daughter of Hyrcanus Sheard and Ann Smith. Elizabeth Ann Sheard was baptized on 8 August 1846 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹

     Martha Ann Sheard was born on 14 December 1872.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin William Sheard and Ann Smith. Martha Ann Sheard was baptized on 9 February 1873 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹
In the census of 2 June 1880 she was listed as at school the daughter of Benjamin William Sheard at Ward 21, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.²

     William Preston was born circa 1785 at Birstall. He married Grace Spurr on 8 December 1805 at Rothwell.
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at New Street, Batley, as a hand loom weaver. Also present is Henry Stubley, 15, probably son of Mary Ann and Beaumont Stubley, but I have not found him with them in 1841.

     Alice Hannah Spedding was born on 30 August 1871.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Spedding and Elizabeth France Fell. Alice Hannah Spedding was baptized on 20 October 1871 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹

     Edith Emma Spedding was born on 4 August 1875.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Spedding and Elizabeth France Fell. Edith Emma Spedding was baptized on 27 October 1875 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹

     Michael Edward Spedding was born on 30 October 1877.¹ He was the son of Edward Spedding and Elizabeth France Fell. Michael Edward Spedding was baptized on 9 December 1877 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹

     Thomas Robert Spedding was born on 4 August 1873.¹ He was the son of Edward Spedding and Elizabeth France Fell. Thomas Robert Spedding was baptized on 11 February 1874 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹
He died in 1875.²

     Ernest Frederick Spedding was born on 4 November 1879.¹ He was the son of Edward Spedding and Elizabeth France Fell. Ernest Frederick Spedding was baptized on 17 October 1880 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹

     Jessie Keighley was born on 12 December 1869.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Dex Keighley and Grace Brearley.¹ Jessie Keighley was baptized on 9 May 1870 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹

     Emaline Garret was born in 1821 at Batley. She was the daughter of Joseph Garret. Emaline Garret was baptized on 11 November 1821 at Batley.¹
She married Samuel Spedding, son of Michael Spedding and Hannah Ineson, in 1842 at Wakefield.²

     Susan Spedding was born on 2 May 1844.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Spedding and Emaline Garret. Susan Spedding was baptized on 28 August 1844 at Hick Lane Chapel, Batley.¹

     Charles Spedding was born on 28 September 1848.¹ He was the son of Samuel Spedding and Emaline Garret. Charles Spedding was baptized on 5 November 1848 at Hick Lane Chapel, Batley.¹

     John Richardson was born circa 1830.

     Mary Stubley was born on 7 February 1846.¹ She was the daughter of Joseph Stubley and Maria Auty. Mary Stubley was baptized on 31 May 1846 at Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a scholar aged 5 the daughter of Joseph Stubley at Havercroft, Batley.²
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as a power loom weaver the daughter of Joseph Stubley at Soothill Lane, Batley.³
Mary Stubley married Mark Nettleton Ingham (?), son of Squire Ingham, on 16 September 1865 at Batley.¹

     William Turnock was born circa 1852 at Ashton, Lancashire. He married Annie Keighley, daughter of Robert Dex Keighley and Hannah Clapham, in 1883.

     William Knowles was born in 1824 at Batley. He was baptized on 22 February 1824 at Batley.¹
He was the son of Joseph Knowles and Mary Goodall. William Knowles married Susannah Butler in 1853.²
William Knowles died before 1861.
