     Bathsheba Hall was born in 1834. She was the daughter of Thomas Hall and Bathsheba Healey. Bathsheba Hall was baptized on 18 May 1834 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the sister of John Hall.² In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a waste sorter the daughter of Thomas Hall at Clerk Green, Batley.³
Bathsheba Hall married James Parkinson on 26 March 1856 at Batley.^4,5
In the census of 7 April 1861 Bathsheba Parkinson was listed at Clay Fold, Batley, as wife of James Parkinson.⁶

     Thomas Henry Hall was born on 7 April 1842.¹ He was the son of Thomas Hall and Letitia Healey. Thomas Henry Hall was baptized on 10 March 1850 at Batley at the same time as his siblings Lucy and Absolom.¹ In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as a scholar the son of Thomas Hall at Clerk Green, Batley.²
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as a waste and wool merchant the son of Letitia Hall at Clay Fold, Batley.³
In 1881 Thomas Henry Hall was listed as a woollen manufacturer at Albert Street, Batley.⁴

     Lucy Hall was born on 5 January 1845.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Hall and Letitia Healey. Lucy Hall was baptized on 10 March 1850 at Batley at the same time as her brothers Thomas Henry and Absolom.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a scholar the daughter of Thomas Hall at Clerk Green, Batley.²
Lucy Hall married Joseph Henry Knowles, son of Joseph Knowles and Mary Goodall, on 17 September 1864 at Batley Witnesses were Thomas Henry Hall and Elizabeth Blakeley Burnley.¹
In the census of 2 April 1871 Lucy Knowles was listed at Clerk Green, Batley, as wife of Joseph Henry Knowles.³
In the census of 3 April 1881 Lucy Knowles was listed at Goose Hill, Batley, as wife of Joseph Henry Knowles.

     Sarah Ann Archer was born circa 1811 at Ossett. She married Benjamin Parr, son of Benjamin Parr and Elizabeth Sheard, on 14 July 1844 at Rehoboth Chapel, Morley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 Sarah Ann Parr was listed at Howley, Morley, as wife of Benjamin Parr.²
In the census of 7 April 1861 Sarah Ann Parr was listed at Howley Mill, Morley, as wife of Benjamin Parr.³
In the census of 2 April 1871 Sarah Ann Parr was listed at Howley Low Mill, Morley, as wife of Benjamin Parr.⁴

     Elizabeth Parr was born circa 1855 at Morley. She was the daughter of Benjamin Parr and Sarah Ann Archer. She was listed in the census of 2 April 1871 a music teacher.¹

     John Thompson was born on 23 June 1795. He was the son of Charles Thompson and Susanna Chadwick. John Thompson was baptized on 20 April 1806 at Batley.¹
He married Rachel Colbeck, daughter of Joseph Colbeck and Ann Lindley, on 4 June 1821 at Batley witnesses were Jo. Chadwick and Thomas Wilby.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as a stone mason the son of Charles Thompson at Batley.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Carlinghow, Batley, as a stonemason employing 6 men and 5 apprentices. One apprentice, Thomas Oldroyd, aged 18 is lodging with the family.³
John Thompson died on 23 June 1855 at age 60. A gravestone in Batley churchyard records 7 children, not named, who died in infancy.⁴

     Jane Ibberson was baptized on 8 July 1770 at Batley.¹
She was the daughter of William Ibberson and Sarah Senior. Jane Ibberson married Francis Thompson, son of John Thompson and Sarah Spedding, on 28 September 1789 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the head of household at White Lee, Batley, as a farmer, aged 70.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as the head of household at White Lee, Batley, as a farmer of 27 acres, aged 80. Also present is a granddaughter, Elizabeth Hutchinson.³

     Charles Thompson was born on 14 September 1795. He was the son of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. Charles Thompson was baptized on 4 October 1795 at Batley.

     John Thompson was born on 27 March 1792.¹ He was the son of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. John Thompson was baptized on 25 April 1792 at Batley.¹

     Mary Thompson was born on 4 August 1803.¹ She was the daughter of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. Mary Thompson was baptized on 18 September 1803 at Batley.¹
She married Abraham Hutchinson on 6 June 1824 at Mirfield.²

     Sarah Ibberson Thompson was born on 14 August 1798. She was the daughter of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. Sarah Ibberson Thompson was baptized on 30 September 1798.¹

     Abraham Thompson was baptized on 27 May 1801 at Batley.¹
He was born on 27 May 1801. He was the son of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as an ag lab the son of Jane Thompson at White Lee, Batley.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as a farmer's son employed on the farm the son of Jane Thompson at White Lee, Batley.³

     Fanny Thompson was born circa 1790. She was the daughter of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the daughter of Jane Thompson at White Lee, Batley.¹

     John Thompson was born on 8 February 1784. He was the son of William Thompson and Ann Milns. John Thompson was baptized on 7 March 1784 at Batley.¹

     Sarah Thompson was born on 6 March 1788.¹ She was the daughter of William Thompson and Ann Milns. Sarah Thompson was baptized on 24 March 1788 at Batley.

     Susanna Thompson was born on 7 January 1786. She was the daughter of William Thompson and Ann Milns. Susanna Thompson was baptized on 15 January 1786 at Batley.

     Benjamin Milns is identified from Dade Registers, but was probably the Benjamin Milns of Dewsbury who married Susanna Spedding on June 8th 1761, witnesses being William Farrar and Robert Spedding.

     Hannah Butterworth was born circa 1802 at Ripponden. She was the daughter of Thomas Butterworth. Hannah Butterworth was baptized on 18 April 1802 at Ripponden.¹
She married Michael Spedding, son of Charles Spedding and Mary Ellis, on 5 January 1844 at Batley.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 Hannah Spedding was listed at New Road, Batley, as wife of Michael Spedding.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as the head of household at Albion Street, Batley, as a widow aged 59, a fund holder.⁴

     Edward Spedding was said to be deaf and dumb.¹ He was born on 6 May 1847.² He was the son of Michael Spedding and Hannah Butterworth. Edward Spedding was baptized on 31 August 1847 at Batley.²

Edward Spedding and Elizabeth France Fell were listed in the census of 7 April 1861 at The Deaf and Dumb Institution, Doncaster, as pupils. The couple were later to marry, and it seems likely that this was where they met. This Institution, founded in 1829, was the earliest school for the deaf in Yorkshire. Pupils had been in the way of waving from the school balcony at racegoers, who would throw them coins, though these were rounded up by the headmaster as additional income. However, concerns about the immorailty of racegoing and betting led to a resolution in this year "that the children of the institution be not allowed in future to appear on the balcony during the race week."⁴

     John Spedding was born on 28 December 1848 at Batley.¹ He was the son of Michael Spedding and Hannah Butterworth. John Spedding was baptized on 18 February 1849 at Batley on the same day as his niece Sarah Hall Spedding.¹

In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as a scholar aged 12 the son of Hannah Spedding at Albion Street, Batley.³
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at New Scarborough, Batley, as a rag merchant aged 22.⁴
John Spedding married Elizabeth Lawrence in 1875.⁵

     Martha Hirst was born on 24 December 1785 at Batley. She was the daughter of Job Hirst and Christiana Carr. Martha Hirst was baptized on 13 January 1786 at Batley.¹

Martha Hirst married James Hall, son of Thomas Hall and Frances Allott, on 31 December 1810, at Batley witnessed by (Thos?) Hirst and Jeremiah Chadwick.¹
Martha Hall and James Hall were said to have adopted Martha's nephew, William Dean.
In the census of 6 June 1841 Martha Hall was listed at Aldams House, Dewsbury, as wife of James Hall.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 Martha Hall was listed at Purlwell, Batley, as wife of James Hall.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as the head of household at Purlwell, Batley, as an annuitant aged 75 living with her brother.⁴

     Job Hirst was the son of Jonas Hirst. Job Hirst married Christiana Carr, daughter of Samuel Carr, on 13 April 1783 at Dewsbury.

     Elizabeth Hirst was born in 1816. She was the daughter of Samuel Hirst and Elizabeth Thompson. Elizabeth Hirst was baptized on 25 December 1816 at Batley.¹

     Hannah Hirst was born on 15 September 1792 at Dewsbury. She was the daughter of Job Hirst and Christiana Carr. Hannah Hirst married William Dean on 6 May 1816 at Batley.
