     Thomas Sheard was born in 1835. He was the son of Benjamin Sheard and Margaret Gledhill. Thomas Sheard was baptized on 7 December 1835 at Batley.¹

     Grace Sheard was born in 1838. She was the daughter of Benjamin Sheard and Margaret Gledhill. In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the daughter of Benjamin Sheard at Havercroft, Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as the daughter of Benjamin Sheard at Havercroft, Batley.²
Grace Sheard married William Beaumont in 1859.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 Grace Beaumont was listed as a power loom weaver wife of William Beaumont.⁴

Grace Beaumont was buried on 1 April 1914 at the Cemetery, Batley.⁷

     David Sheard was born on 1 May 1840. He was the son of Benjamin Sheard and Margaret Gledhill. David Sheard was baptized on 14 June 1840 at Batley.
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the son of Benjamin Sheard at Havercroft, Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the son of Benjamin Sheard at Havercroft, Batley.²
David Sheard married Caroline Jackson on 20 September 1860 at Batley.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 David Sheard, listed as a lodger, appeared as a rag machine overlooker, now married to Caroline, in the household of his mother Margaret Sheard at Old Mill Lane, Batley.⁴

In 1862 David and Caroline Sheard emigrated to America with their daughter, sailing from Liverpool to New York on the "Constitution of Liverpool" and arriving on the 27th August.⁵
In the census of 1870 he was listed as the head of household at Newburgh, Orange, New York, as a weaver.⁶
In the census of 8 June 1880 he was listed as the head of household at Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as a carpet weaver.⁷
David Sheard died on 14 January 1899 at Philadelphia at age 58.

     James Gledhill Sheard was born on 10 May 1847. He was the son of Benjamin Sheard and Margaret Gledhill. James Gledhill Sheard was baptized on 30 May 1847 at Batley.

He married Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson, on 14 July 1833 at Tong.¹

John Sheard married Mary Darnbrook, daughter of Joseph Darnbrook, on 21 August 1882 at Batley They were described as widower and widow respectively. Witnesses were Isaac Binns and James Smith.⁷

     Selina Sheard was born in 1818. She was the daughter of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel. Selina Sheard was baptized on 12 May 1818 at Batley.¹
She married Thomas Watson, son of Joseph Watson, on 6 November 1838 at Dewsbury Witnesses were James Gledhill and Samuel Chew.²
In the census of 6 June 1841 Selina Watson was listed at Morley hole, Morley, as wife of Thomas Watson.³
In the census of 30 March 1851 Selina Watson was listed at Middlethorp, Morley, as wife of Thomas Watson.⁴

     Flavius J. Chapple Sheard was born in 1820. He was the son of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel. Flavius J. Chapple Sheard was baptized on 19 September 1820 at Batley.¹

     Hyrcanus Sheard was born in 1822. He was the son of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel. Hyrcanus Sheard was baptized on 17 November 1822 at Batley.¹

Hyrcanus Sheard married Ann Smith, daughter of William Smith, on 10 November 1844 at Wesleyan centenary Chapel, Dewsbury, witnesses Daniel Hargreaves and James Gledhill.⁴

     Ann Smith was born in 1824 at Marylebone. She was the daughter of William Smith. Ann Smith married Hyrcanus Sheard, son of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel, on 10 November 1844 at Wesleyan centenary Chapel, Dewsbury, witnesses Daniel Hargreaves and James Gledhill.¹
Ann Sheard appeared as a milliner and dressmaker on the census of 7 April 1861 in the household of Elizabeth Sheard at Ben Sheard's Fold, John Wards's Hill, Batley.² In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as the head of household at Hume St, Batley, as a woollen warper. there is also a boarder, Richard Brook aged 25.³

     Benjamin William Sheard was born on 15 March 1848.¹ He was the son of Hyrcanus Sheard and Ann Smith. Benjamin William Sheard was baptized on 7 May 1848 at Hick Lane Wesleyan Chapel, Batley.¹
He appeared as a scholar on the census of 7 April 1861 in the household of Elizabeth Sheard at Ben Sheard's Fold, John Wards's Hill, Batley.² Benjamin William Sheard married Ann Smith on 12 February 1870 at St Thomas, Batley.³
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at Hume Street, Batley, as a woollen spinner.⁴
In the census of 2 June 1880 he was listed as the head of household at Ward 21, Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as in the insurance business, and lodging with a George Roebuck and family also from England.⁵

     Joseph Chappell Sheard was born on 19 March 1850 at Batley.¹ He was the son of Hyrcanus Sheard and Ann Smith. Joseph Chappell Sheard was baptized on 24 November 1850 at Batley.¹
He died in 1851 at Batley. He was buried on 9 November 1851 at Batley.¹

     Richard Gill Marshall was born circa 1798. He married Mary Sheard, daughter of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel, on 25 December 1823 at Batley witnesses Jeremiah Chadwick and Abm Burnley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Salford as inspector of nuisances.²

     James Gledhill was born in 1812. He was the son of Joseph Gledhill and Sarah Briggs. James Gledhill was baptized on 26 July 1812 at Batley.¹
He married Harriot Sheard, daughter of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel, on 8 January 1832 at Tong witnesses were George Parker and John Sheard.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at J Ward's Hill, Batley, as a rag grinder.
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at 10 Smith Court, Holbeck, Leeds, as a rag grinder.

     Joseph Gledhill was born on 1 March 1787 at Batley. He was the son of John Gledhill and Susanna Newsome. Joseph Gledhill was baptized on 8 April 1787 at Batley.¹
He married Sarah Briggs, daughter of James Briggs and Dinah Sheard, on 21 January 1809 at Batley Stephen Chappel was also a witness.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft Lane End, Batley, as a cloth weaver.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft, Batley, as a cloth weaver aged 63.³
Joseph Gledhill died on 17 June 1858 at Havercroft, Batley, at age 71 of irritative fever, certified. Grace Sheard made her mark as in attendance, and this was probably his granddaughter, child of his daughter Grace.^4,5

     Elizabeth Thompson was born circa 1815 at Batley. She was baptized on 21 January 1816 at Batley.¹
She was the daughter of Francis Thompson and Jane Ibberson. Elizabeth Thompson married John Sheard, son of Benjamin Sheard and Elizabeth Chappel, on 14 July 1833 at Tong.²
In the census of 6 June 1841 Elizabeth Sheard was listed at Havercroft, Batley, as wife of John Sheard.³
Elizabeth Sheard appeared as a dress maker on the census of 30 March 1851 at 25 J Ward's Hill, Batley, as wife of John Sheard.⁴ In the census of 7 April 1861 Elizabeth Sheard was listed at John Ward's Hill, Batley, as wife of John Sheard.⁵

     Abraham Blakeley was born in 1813. He was the son of John Blakeley and Mary Blackburn. Abraham Blakeley was baptized on 14 February 1813 at Batley.¹
He married Sarah Wilson, daughter of Francis Wilson and Mary Blakeley, on 2 February 1834 at Dewsbury.
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft, Batley, a woollen fuller.²
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Russell Street, Batley, as a widower, a rag merchant employing 7 persons. Also present is Elizabeth Preston, sister-in-law, aged 57.³
Abraham Blakeley married widow Mary Sheard, daughter of Daniel Wilson and Letitia Fox, , and cousin of his first wife, in 1861.⁴
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at Hick Lane, Batley, as a Town Councillor, Rag dealer employing 1 man and 7 women, Local Methodist Preacher.⁵
Abraham Blakeley died on 14 February 1872; aged 59.⁶ He was described as having been a lay preacher of the Gospel for 30 years.⁶

     William Fox was born in 1808 at St George's, London, Middlesex.¹ He was the son of John Fox and Mary Ann (?). William Fox married Elizabeth Blakeley, daughter of David Blakeley and Mary Bentley, on 3 June 1830 at Batley.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at 28 J Ward's Hill, Batley, as a cloth weaver aged 42.
Also present were weaver Joseph Newsome aged 16, nephew, and Hannah Smith, cousin, a bobbin winder aged 10.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Ben Sheard's Fold, John Ward's Hill, Batley, as a rag dealer employing 7 women.⁴

     Samuel Blakeley was baptized on 22 June 1817 at Batley.¹
He was born on 22 June 1817. He was the son of John Blakeley and Mary Blackburn.

     Ann Blakeley was born on 3 February 1819. She was the daughter of John Blakeley and Mary Blackburn. Ann Blakeley was baptized on 7 April 1819 at Salem Chapel, Dewsbury.

     Luke Blakeley was born on 26 January 1822. He was the son of John Blakeley and Mary Blackburn. Luke Blakeley was baptized on 20 March 1822 at Salem Chapel, Dewsbury.
He married Rachel (?) in 1849.

Luke Blakeley died on 14 January 1881 at age 58. He lived at Brownhill Villa, Havercroft Lane End, Soothill, at the time of his death.

     Leah Blakeley was born on 28 January 1826. She was the daughter of John Blakeley and Mary Blackburn. Leah Blakeley was baptized on 25 February 1826 at Zion Chapel, Batley.
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as a female sevant the daughter of John Blakeley at Havercroft, Batley.¹
Leah Blakeley married Robert Talbot, son of Joseph Talbot and Mary Bennington.^2,3
Leah Blakeley died in 1860. She was buried on 20 November 1860 ; aged 34.⁴

     Rachel Blakeley was born in 1829. She was the daughter of John Blakeley and Mary Blackburn. In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the daughter of John Blakeley at Havercroft, Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a rag sorter aged 22 the daughter of John Blakeley at J Ward's Hill, Batley.²
Rachel Blakeley married Charles Thompson, son of John Thompson and Rachel Colbeck, in 1852.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 Rachel Thompson was listed at Carlinghow Rd, Batley, as wife of Charles Thompson.⁴
In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as a rag dealer the sister of Abraham Blakeley.⁵
