In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a scholar the daughter of Henry Brearley at Havercroft, Batley.2
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as sister aged 15, domestic servant. Mary Jane has been listed as Ward but I thionk this is Sarah's sister Mary Jane Brearley. the sister of Sarah Sheard Ward.3 In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as a housemaid the daughter of Henry Brearley at Wellington Street, Batley.4
In the census of 3 April 1881 she was listed as aged 35 the daughter of Henry Brearley at Wellington Street, Batley.5
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as the head of household at 15 Russel St, Batley, as a tea agent aged 45.6
In the census of 31 March 1901 she was listed as the head of household at 15 Russel St, Batley., as a shopkeeper, grocer, on own account. She is listed here as mary Ann, but I think this is a mistake.7
Mary Jane Brearley was buried on 12 November 1907 at the Cemetery, Batley, ; with her father and step-mother.8

He married Elizabeth Gaunt, daughter of Joseph Gaunt, on 30 November 1778 at Batley.2
John Chadwick died on 11 February 1802 at Batley; aged 52.3
