     John Hemingway was born circa 1827 at Batley. He married Catherine Letitia Wilson, daughter of Daniel Wilson and Letitia Fox, in 1850.¹
He was listed in the census of 30 March 1851 as a teacher of reading, writing and arithmetic, with father-in-law Daniel Wilson.²

     Christopher Whitaker was born at Dewsbury. He married Ann Ward, daughter of John Ward and Mary (?), on 18 January 1790 at Batley witnessed by Samuel Ward and John Talbot.¹

     Barnabas Hargreaves was born circa 1822 at Batley. He was the son of Benjamin Hargreaves and Sarah Ineson. Barnabas Hargreaves was baptized on 27 January 1822 at Batley.¹
He married Ann Blackburn, daughter of William Blackburn and Sarah Thompson, on 29 August 1847 at Batley.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Clerk Green, Batley, as a spinner.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Cross Bank, Batley, as a woollen spinner.⁴
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at High St, Batley, a woollen spinner.⁵
Barnabas Hargreaves married Elizabeth Kershaw in 1878.⁶
Barnabas Hargreaves died in 1900.⁷

Elinor Colbeck died on 6 May 1895 at age 47.^7,8

     Emily Hargreaves was born on 12 August 1850 at Batley.¹ She was the daughter of Barnabas Hargreaves and Ann Blackburn. Emily Hargreaves was baptized on 10 November 1850 at Batley.¹

     Sarah Ellen Hargreaves was born in 1869 at Batley. She was the daughter of Barnabas Hargreaves and Ann Blackburn. In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as the daughter of Barnabas Hargreaves at High St, Batley, but I think it possible that she was the child of theirdaughter Emily, and the infant listed later as daughter of Emily and her husband Arthur Haley.¹
In the census of 3 April 1881 she was listed as Sarah E Haley the daughter of George Alfred Haley at Huddersfield New Inn, Mirfield.²

     Benjamin Hargreaves married Sarah Ineson on 25 December 1817 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Clerk Green, Batley, a woollen lab, aged 50.²
Benjamin Hargreaves died in 1850. He was buried on 8 September 1850 at Batley ; aged 61.¹

     Sarah Ineson married Benjamin Hargreaves on 25 December 1817 at Batley.¹

     Grace Hargreaves was born in 1824. She was the daughter of Benjamin Hargreaves and Sarah Ineson. Grace Hargreaves was baptized on 3 October 1824 at Batley.¹

     Mary Hargreaves was born in 1818. She was the daughter of Benjamin Hargreaves and Sarah Ineson. Mary Hargreaves was baptized on 27 December 1818 at Batley.¹

     Ann Hargreaves was born in 1823. She was the daughter of Benjamin Hargreaves and Sarah Ineson. Ann Hargreaves was baptized on 19 May 1823 at Batley.¹

      Maria Redfearn was also known as Mary Redfearn at marriage and on MI. She was born in 1829. She was the daughter of James Redfearn and Grace Hall. Maria Redfearn was baptized on 29 November 1829 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as aged 11 the daughter of James Redfearn at The Commercial Inn, Clerk Green.²
Maria Redfearn married Thomas Redfearn in 1847.³
Maria Redfearn died on 16 June 1849. She was buried on 19 June 1849 at Batley ; aged 19, of Clerk Green.¹

     Sarah Sheard Brearley was born in 1832. She was the daughter of Henry Brearley and Hannah Sheard. Sarah Sheard Brearley was baptized on 18 November 1832 at Batley.¹

In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as the daughter of Henry Brearley at Havercroft, Batley.³
Sarah Sheard Brearley married John Ward, son of John Ward and Sarah (?), on 6 October 1853 at Batley Witnesses were John Sheard and Robert Brearley.^4,1
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as the head of household at Wellington Street, Batley, as a widow aged 28, a grocer.⁵

     Abraham Brearley was born in 1830. He was the son of Henry Brearley and Hannah Sheard. Abraham Brearley was baptized on 4 April 1830 at Batley.¹
He died in 1831. He was buried on 15 September 1831 at Batley ; aged 1.¹

     Mary Jane Brearley was born in July 1845.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Brearley and Hannah Sheard. Mary Jane Brearley was baptized on 31 August 1845 at Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a scholar the daughter of Henry Brearley at Havercroft, Batley.²
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as sister aged 15, domestic servant. Mary Jane has been listed as Ward but I thionk this is Sarah's sister Mary Jane Brearley. the sister of Sarah Sheard Ward.³ In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as a housemaid the daughter of Henry Brearley at Wellington Street, Batley.⁴
In the census of 3 April 1881 she was listed as aged 35 the daughter of Henry Brearley at Wellington Street, Batley.⁵
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as the head of household at 15 Russel St, Batley, as a tea agent aged 45.⁶
In the census of 31 March 1901 she was listed as the head of household at 15 Russel St, Batley., as a shopkeeper, grocer, on own account. She is listed here as mary Ann, but I think this is a mistake.⁷
Mary Jane Brearley was buried on 12 November 1907 at the Cemetery, Batley, ; with her father and step-mother.⁸

     Susan Chadwick was born in 1827. She was the daughter of Joseph Chadwick and Mary (?). Susan Chadwick was baptized on 30 May 1827 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the daughter of Joseph Chadwick at Up Lane, Batley.²

     John Chadwick was born in 1749. He was the son of Jeremiah Chadwick. John Chadwick was baptized on 25 July 1749 at Dewsbury.¹
He married Elizabeth Gaunt, daughter of Joseph Gaunt, on 30 November 1778 at Batley.²
John Chadwick died on 11 February 1802 at Batley; aged 52.³

     Elizabeth Gaunt was the daughter of Joseph Gaunt. Elizabeth Gaunt married John Chadwick, son of Jeremiah Chadwick, on 30 November 1778 at Batley.¹
Elizabeth Gaunt died on 18 February 1793 at Batley; aged 35 years.

     Bridget Chadwick was born on 9 September 1789. She was the daughter of John Chadwick and Elizabeth Gaunt. Bridget Chadwick was baptized on 2 October 1789.¹
She died on 2 October 1793 at age 4.
