In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Carlinghow, Batley, as a cloth weaver.²

     Lionel Edward Binns was born on 28 July 1879.¹ He was the son of George Edward Binns and Frances Emma Stocks. Lionel Edward Binns died on 7 December 1880 at age 1.¹

     William H Riddlesworth was born circa 1860 at Congleton, Cheshire. He was listed in the census of 3 April 1881 at Broomhill Terrace, Batley, as a draper's assistant lodging with widowed Mary Thompson and family.¹
He married Eliza Mary Webster, daughter of John Hartley Webster and Emily Walker Fawcett, on 13 November 1883 at Batley.²
In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as the head of household at 49 Commercial Street, Batley, as a General Draper. Also present are George H Mitchell, boarder, an assistant draper, and Lily Asquith, a general sevant and cook.³
In 1911 William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Riddlesworth emigrated to America, sailing on the S. S. Campania from Liverpool to New York, leaving on the 14th October and arriving on the 21st.⁴
In the census of January 1920 he was listed as the head of household at Auburn, Cayuga, New York, as of no occupation. This entry is a little odd , as it show William with no wife but 2 daughters, Ethel aged 53 and Eliza 33. I suspect there is a mistake in this, and William is with his wife and daughter, but son William's age is correct.⁵

     Samuel Webster was born circa 1810 at Gildersome. He married Maria Hartley on 25 December 1830 at Batley by banns; witnesses were James Webster and Jonathan Webster.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Leeds as a master cloth dresser.²

     Ethel Riddlesworth was born circa 1886 at Batley. She was the daughter of William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Webster. In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as aged 5 the daughter of William H Riddlesworth at 49 Commercial Street, Batley.¹
Ethel Riddlesworth emigrated with her parents William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Riddlesworth in 1911; to America, sailing on the S. S. Campania from Liverpool to New York, leaving on the 14th October and arriving on the 21st.² In the census of 8 April 1930 she was listed as a cashier in a dry goods store, the sister of William Riddlesworth.³ Ethel Riddlesworth died on 18 April 1983 at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Auburn, New York; aged 97.

     Harold Riddlesworth was born in 1888 at Batley.¹ He was the son of William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Webster. In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as aged 2 the son of William H Riddlesworth at 49 Commercial Street, Batley.²

Harold Riddlesworth emigrated with his parents William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Riddlesworth in 1911; to America, sailing on the S. S. Campania from Liverpool to New York, leaving on the 14th October and arriving on the 21st.³ An attestation document dated on 8 April 1918 in Toronto shows Harold, like his brother, prepared to fight with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in the First World War. In Harold's case we learn from this that he had previously served for 6 months as a private in the US National Guard, though he gives his occupation as a machinist's helper.¹

     Thomas Redfearn married Maria Redfearn, daughter of James Redfearn and Grace Hall, in 1847.¹

     William Riddlesworth was born on 9 May 1897 and registered as Willie.^1,2 He was the son of William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Webster. An attestation document dated on 8 April 1918 in Toronto shows William, like his brother, prepared to fight with the Canadian Expeditionary Force in the First World War.³
In the census of January 1920 he was listed as a soldier in the Canadian army, the son of William H Riddlesworth at Auburn, Cayuga, New York.⁴

In the census of 8 April 1930 he was listed as the head of household at Auburn, Cayuga, New York, as a weaver in a carpet factory.⁵

     Violet (?) was born circa 1903 at England. She married William Riddlesworth, son of William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Webster, circa 1923.

     Sarah Marsden was born circa 1821. She married Jacob Lister, son of Joseph Lister and Jenny Raper, on 24 February 1845 at Centenary chapel, Dewsbury.¹

     Maud Mary Fox was born on 8 January 1874.¹ She was the daughter of George Sheard Fox and Nanny Senior. Maud Mary Fox was baptized on 22 February 1874 at Batley.¹

     Ernest Edward Fox was born on 30 November 1868.¹ He was the son of George Sheard Fox and Nanny Senior. Ernest Edward Fox was baptized on 13 December 1868.¹

     Senior Frederick L Fox was born on 7 April 1872.¹ He was the son of George Sheard Fox and Nanny Senior. Senior Frederick L Fox was baptized on 19 May 1872.¹

     Charles Herbert Fox was born on 17 July 1870.¹ He was the son of George Sheard Fox and Nanny Senior. Charles Herbert Fox was baptized on 21 August 1870.¹

     Florrie (?) was born circa 1889 at England. She married Harold Riddlesworth, son of William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Webster, circa 1910.

     Jeremiah Chappell was born circa 1834 at Morley. He was the son of Richard Chappell. Jeremiah Chappell married Sophia Helliwell, daughter of John Helliwell, in 1857.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Back Lane, Morley, as a farmer of 20 acres employing 1 man. Lodging with the family is Lionel Helliwell aged 16, an apprentice woollen manufacturer.²
Jeremiah Chappell died in 1865.

     John Richard Chappell was born in 1859. He was the son of Jeremiah Chappell and Sophia Helliwell. In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the son of Jeremiah Chappell at Back Lane, Morley.¹

     Richard Chappell was born circa 1804.

     Arthur Riddlesworth was born in 1891. He was the son of William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Webster. Arthur Riddlesworth died on 18 April 1895; aged 4 years.¹

     Walter Skelsey was born circa 1854 at Toronto, Canada. He was the son of John Skelsey. Walter Skelsey married Amy Hall, daughter of Joseph Hall and Grace Brearley, on 20 June 1878 at Hick Lane Chapel, Batley.¹
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as the head of household at Masonic Villa, Bromley Road, Soothill, as a woollen manufacturer.²

     John Skelsey was born circa 1818 at Coventry, Warwickshire. He described as of Hatfield, Doncaster at his son Walter's wedding. He died on 15 April 1892 at Harrogate.¹

     Clara Skelsey was born in 1861. She was the daughter of John Skelsey. Clara Skelsey married Robert Brearley, son of Thomas Brearley and Hannah Morrell, on 16 July 1885 at The Parish Church, Hatfield, Doncaster.¹
