     William H Riddlesworth was born circa 1860 at Congleton, Cheshire. He was listed in the census of 3 April 1881 at Broomhill Terrace, Batley, as a draper's assistant lodging with widowed Mary Thompson and family.1
He married Eliza Mary Webster, daughter of John Hartley Webster and Emily Walker Fawcett, on 13 November 1883 at Batley.2
In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as the head of household at 49 Commercial Street, Batley, as a General Draper. Also present are George H Mitchell, boarder, an assistant draper, and Lily Asquith, a general sevant and cook.3
In 1911 William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Riddlesworth emigrated to America, sailing on the S. S. Campania from Liverpool to New York, leaving on the 14th October and arriving on the 21st.4
In the census of January 1920 he was listed as the head of household at Auburn, Cayuga, New York, as of no occupation. This entry is a little odd , as it show William with no wife but 2 daughters, Ethel aged 53 and Eliza 33. I suspect there is a mistake in this, and William is with his wife and daughter, but son William's age is correct.5

Ethel Riddlesworth emigrated with her parents William H Riddlesworth and Eliza Mary Riddlesworth in 1911; to America, sailing on the S. S. Campania from Liverpool to New York, leaving on the 14th October and arriving on the 21st.2 In the census of 8 April 1930 she was listed as a cashier in a dry goods store, the sister of William Riddlesworth.3 Ethel Riddlesworth died on 18 April 1983 at Mercy Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Auburn, New York; aged 97.

In Harold's case we learn from this that he had previously served for 6 months as a private in the US National Guard, though he gives his occupation as a machinist's helper.1
