In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at Up Lane, Batley, as a farmer.6
He died on 9 June 1871 at Batley at age 84.7
He, described as Parish Clerk aged 84, was buried on 13 June 1871 at Batley.1
James Willans, speaking of some fifty or sixty years before he wrote, said
"South of the Churchyard were the farmhouse and buildings of Mr Joseph Chadwick, the parish clerk, whose family had held the office for four generations."8

Relationship=3rd great-aunt of Vivien Eley.
Tabitha Senior was also known as Batthy Green. She was born circa 1807. She was the daughter of John Senior and Ann Haigh. Tabitha Senior married Charles Green on 1 October 1827 at High Hoyland.
In the census of 6 June 1841 Batthy Green was listed at Skelmanthorpe as wife of Charles Green.1
Tabitha Senior died in 1849. She was buried on 28 December 1849 at St Augustine, Scissett, ; aged 42.2
