He married Susannah Bevers on 6 September 1818 at Batley.2
In 1831 John Scatcherd made a will ; in which, describing himself as a maltster, he mentions shares both in Batley Old Mill and Clerk Green Mill.1 He died in 1832.1 He was buried on 29 January 1832 at Batley ; aged 81.2

The 6th Earl of Wilton, Seymour Edward Frederick Egerton was born in 1896. He was the son of 5th Earl of Wilton, Arthur George Egerton. In 1909the 6th Earl of Wilton, Seymour Edward Frederick Egerton donated twenty-eight and a half acres of woodland for a public park.1 In 1920 the 6th Earl of Wilton, Seymour Edward Frederick Egerton sold a part of his Batley estate including the freehold of theWoodlands Estate to David Stubley; bought a part of the Wilton Estate in Batley including the freehold of the Woodlands Estate from.1 The 6th Earl of Wilton, Seymour Edward Frederick Egerton died in 1927.
