In 1914 George Talbot Brearley was was in Wittenberge in 1914, when he was arrested on the 6th of November and briefly held at the cloth factory there before being sent to Ruhleben civilian internment camp where he was in barrack 4. Details are taken from a handbook of the Ruhleben Football Association for the 1915 season.¹
He died in 1929. He was buried on 13 April 1929 at Batley Cemetery ; described as waste merchant.³
