In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as the daughter of Squire Senior at New Batley.3
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a piecer at a woollen factory the daughter of Squire Senior at Clerk Green, Batley.4
Isabella Senior married Jeremiah Mitchell, son of Joseph Mitchell, on 12 August 1852 at Bradford I thought perhaps I had made a mistake on this one, for Isabella wsa married as daughter of John Senior, a spinner. However, Like Squire's daughter this Isabella was born in June 1835 as is shown on a later American census. I can find no Isabella born to a John at that time, either in baptisms or in census recoerds. Squire Senior's daughter Isabella is not to be found in UK censuses after 1851, and I can find no alternative marriage or death recorded for her. Their first son was born in Clerk Green, where Squire Senior, listed as a spinner in 1851, and his wife were living. I think therefore that this was Squire's Isabella, aged 18, and that either the father's name was a mistake orthe marriage was a clandestine one.5,6

Emigration to America

Isabella Mitchell and Jeremiah Mitchell emigrated in 1855 on the ship Webster, arriving in New York on September 3rd.7 In the census of 1860 Isabella Mitchell was listed at Amstersdam, Montgomery, New York, as wife of Jeremiah Mitchell.8
In the census of 29 June 1870 Isabella Mitchell was listed at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York, as wife of Jeremiah Mitchell.9
Isabella Mitchell accompanied her sister-in-law Mary Seniorand Martha Clafton and Ann Sheard on a visit to England in 1889. The party left New York in June and returned in October, arriving on the 15th on the "Aurania."10 In the census of 1892 she was listed as the head of household at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York, as a widow.11
In the census of 9 June 1900 she was listed as the head of household at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York.12
Isabella Mitchell died on 4 January 1917 at 4 Faxton Street, Utica, at age 81.1
