     Lillian Parker was born circa 1905 at New York. She was the daughter of Charles Parker and Alice Sheard. In the census of 3 January 1920 she was listed as the daughter of Charles Parker at Endicott Village, Broome, Union, New York.¹

     Sheard Parker was born on 2 July 1904 at New York.¹ He was the son of Charles Parker and Alice Sheard. In the census of 3 January 1920 he was listed as the son of Charles Parker at Endicott Village, Broome, Union, New York.²
Sheard Parker died on 4 September 1953 at Utica, New York, at age 49; as a consequence of a plane crash. He is said to have survived the crash itself but gone back to help others and been killed when the plane exploded.¹

     Orlando Watson was born circa 1840 at Batley. He was the son of Thomas Watson and Selina Sheard. In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the son of Thomas Watson at Morley hole, Morley.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as a farmer of 26 acres employing 1 man the son of Thomas Watson at Town End, Morley.²
Orlando Watson married Alice Sowden on 8 June 1865 at St James, Seacroft.³

     Elizabeth Clegg was born circa 1839 at Batley. She was the daughter of Michael Clegg. Elizabeth Clegg married James Redfearn, son of James Redfearn and Grace Hall, on 20 October 1858 at Batley.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 Elizabeth Redfearn was listed at Clay Fold, Batley, as wife of James Redfearn.²

In 1887 Mary Bolton and Dan Firth Bolton with their two small children and Dan's brother John Firth Bolton emigrated to Australia on the ship "Waroonga", arriving on the 17th October.⁴
Mary and Dan Firth were to have more children there, and this photograph shows them with grandchildren in Cairns.⁴
Mary Bolton died on 1 June 1946 at Cairns at age 86.⁴

     Dan Firth Bolton was born on 15 November 1859 at Batley.¹ He was the son of Joseph Bolton and Lucy Firth. Dan Firth Bolton was baptized on 23 September 1860 at Batley.¹

In the census of 31 March 1901 he was listed as the head of household at 9 Weston View, Holbeck, Leeds, as an engine tenter.
In the census of 1911 he was listed as the head of household at 55 Taylor Street, Batley, as a mechanic, labourer.¹

In 1912 Joseph Bolton and Emma Bolton emigrated to Australia sailing on the SS Limerick.¹
Arriving in Cairns where Joseph's brother Dan Firth Bolton had been living since 1887, Joseph and family then headed north to the far northern Queensland town of Mount Mulligan wherre he maintained stationery steam engines and could use his coal industry knowledge gained in Yorkshire.¹
Joseph Bolton was able to produce good references including one from Soothill Wood Colliery.
By the mid 1920s Joseph and Emma moved back to Cairns and settled into a new cottage at 200 Lake Street recently built for them by their son Joseph Newsome Bolton.¹
Joseph Bolton then found work as a stevedore on the Cairns wharf where he remained until his retirement.
He died on 22 February 1941 at the District Hospital, Cairns, at age 69 of carcinoma of the stomach.¹
Joseph and Emma were to live to see 15 Australian born grandchildren, but Yorkshire roots were not forgotten when relatives added this plaque to their unmarked grave.

     John Firth Bolton was born in 1864. He was the son of Joseph Bolton and Lucy Firth. In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as a scholar the son of Joseph Bolton at 5 Ilberoyd Road, Batley.¹
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as as a bricklayer's apprentice the son of Joseph Bolton at Mill lane, Batley.²
John Firth Bolton married Emma Ann Baines on 17 July 1886 at The Parish Church, Woodkirk.³
John Firth Bolton emigrated to Australia with his brother and sister-in law Dan Firth Bolton and Mary Bolton in 1887 but unlike them did not remain there.³
In the census of 31 March 1901 he was listed as the head of household at Oxford Terrace, Soothill Lane, Soothill, as an engine tenter.⁴
John Firth Bolton died on 1 October 1936 at 21 Haybeck Lane, West Ardsley; Cause of death was given as angina pectoris following an inquest on October 2nd.
John was described as a retired boiler fireman.^3,5 He was buried on 5 October 1936 at St Mary, Woodkirk.⁶

In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as the head of household at Carlinghow Hill, Batley, as an engineer in a mill.⁶
In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as the head of household at 5 Carlinghow Hill, Batley, as a fire tender, mill engine.⁷
In the census of 2 April 1911 he was listed as the head of household at 35 Cross Bank Road, Batley, as a night watchman, shoddy manufacturer. The couple are recorded as having had seven children, of whom four are living.⁸

Charles was described at the time as an engine tenter in a woollen mill, of Mill Lane, Batley, and Hannah as a spinster of Providence St.⁵
