     Anne Thompson was born in 1728. She was the daughter of John Thompson and Amy Buckler. Anne Thompson was baptized on 28 July 1728 at Batley.¹

     Richard Shepley was born in 1591 at Mirfield. He was the son of Thomas Shepley and Jane Hepworth. Richard Shepley was baptized on 26 January 1590/91 at Mirfield.¹
He married Ester Rhodes, daughter of William Rhodes and Agnes Hall, on 23 May 1619 at Mirfield.¹

Richard Shepley made a will on 18 October 1631; in which he describes himself as a tanner. A servant of Richard Shepley's was buried on 4 November 1631.¹ He died in 1631 at Mirfield of the plague, along with "his littell infant" They seem to have been the last of 130 victims of this outbreak of plague, which had also claimed his parents-in-law, said to have been brought to Mirfield by a poor stranger who died there in April of that year.¹ He was buried on 19 November 1631 at Mirfield.¹

     Joshua Shepley was born circa 1623 at Mirfield. He was the son of Richard Shepley and Ester Rhodes. Joshua Shepley was baptized on 18 January 1622/23 at Mirfield.¹
I think it likely that Joshua Shepley married Margaret Burgh on 4 July 1655 at St Peter's, Leeds, We know from Joshua's grave that his wife was Margaret, and the date fits well.²
Joshua Shepley was listed as having 2 hearths in the Hearth Tax Bill of 1666 at Batley.³
He and Jeremiah Shepley were listed as freeholders in 1677 at Batley.
Joshua Shepley left a will on 16 April 1679 bequests including 20s to his mother, 3s to his brother Jeremy and 3s apiece to Marmaduke and Jeremy his brother Jeremy's sons.
He died in 1679 at Batley.⁴ He was buried on 21 May 1679 at Batley.⁵

     William Shepley was born in 1621 at Mirfield. He was the son of Richard Shepley and Ester Rhodes. William Shepley was baptized on 5 August 1621 at Mirfield.¹

     Richard Shepley was born in 1619 at Mirfield. He was the son of Richard Shepley and Ester Rhodes. Richard Shepley was baptized on 29 August 1619 at Mirfield.¹

     Thomas Shepley was born in 1628 at Mirfield. He was the son of Richard Shepley and Ester Rhodes. Thomas Shepley was baptized on 5 April 1628 at Mirfield as Thomas the son of Richard Shepley.¹
He was probably the Thomas listed as a freeholder in along withJoshua Shepley and Jeremiah Shepley listed as freeholders in 1677 at Batley.

     Joshua Shepley was born in 1659. He was the son of Joshua Shepley and Margaret Burgh. Joshua Shepley was baptized on 12 November 1659 at Batley.
He married Ann (?).
Joshua Shepley died in 1694. He was buried on 23 November 1694 at Batley.¹

     Richard Shepley was born in 1656 at Batley. He was the son of Joshua Shepley and Margaret Burgh. Richard Shepley was baptized on 21 April 1656 at Batley.

     Elizabeth Shepley was born in 1657. She was the daughter of Joshua Shepley and Margaret Burgh. Elizabeth Shepley was baptized on 16 September 1657 at Batley.¹

     Ester Rhodes was born in 1597 at Mirfield. She was the daughter of William Rhodes and Agnes Hall. Ester Rhodes was baptized on 6 November 1597 at Mirfield.¹
She married Richard Shepley, son of Thomas Shepley and Jane Hepworth, on 23 May 1619 at Mirfield.¹
Ester Shepley received a bequest of 20s in the will of her son Joshua Shepley on 16 April 1679.
Ester Shepley outlived her husband by over fifty years, dying in 1684. She was buried on 4 June 1684 at Batley.²

     Ann (?) was born circa 1667. She married Joshua Shepley, son of Joshua Shepley and Margaret Burgh.
Ann (?) died on 29 June 1729 at Batley aged 62, as the widow of Joshua Shepley of Batley, Yeoman; as widow of Joshua Shepley, yeoman.

     Helen M Waite married Titus Sheard, son of George Sheard and Martha Talbot, in 1863.
In the census of 13 June 1870 Helen M Sheard was listed at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York, as wife of Titus Sheard.¹
In the census of 1880 Helen M Sheard was listed at Herkimer, Little Falls, New York, as wife of Titus Sheard.²
In the census of 9 June 1900 Helen M Sheard was listed at Little Falls as wife of Titus Sheard.³
Helen M Sheard appeared on the census of 12 January 1920 in the household of her daughter and son-in-lawEdwin I Stinson and Martha Talbot Stinson at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York; as a manufacturer of knit goods, an employer.⁴

     Martha Talbot Sheard was born circa 1868. She was the daughter of Titus Sheard and Helen M Waite. In the census of 13 June 1870 she was listed as aged 2 the daughter of Titus Sheard at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York.¹
In the census of 1880 she was listed as the daughter of Titus Sheard at Herkimer, Little Falls, New York.²
Martha Talbot Sheard married Edwin I Stinson, son of James Stinson, on 11 September 1888 at Little Falls, NY State.
In the census of 9 June 1900 she was listed as the daughter of Titus Sheard at Little Falls.³
In the census of 12 January 1920 Martha Talbot Stinson was listed at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York, as wife of Edwin I Stinson.⁴
Martha Talbot Sheard died in 1947.

     Rebecca Blakeley Sheard was born in 1852 at Bristol.^1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Sheard and Elizabeth (?). In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as the daughter of Charles Sheard at 24 Castle Green, Bristol.¹
She was listed in the census of 2 April 1871 at Commercial Street, Batley, as a general servant, (domestic) in household of William Carrington, Chemist and Druggist.³
Rebecca Blakeley Sheard married Thomas Edward Scatcherd, son of George Scatcherd, in 1873.⁴
In the census of 3 April 1881 Rebecca Blakeley Scatcherd was listed at Blakeridge lane, Batley, as wife of Thomas Edward Scatcherd.⁵
In 1882 Rebecca Blakeley Scatcherd and Thomas Edward Scatcherd emigrated to America on the ship Wisconsin, arriving in New York on the 9th November.⁶
Rebecca Blakeley and Thomas settled in Little Falls where Rebecca's uncle Titus was established in business.
In the census of 1892 Rebecca Blakeley Scatcherd was listed at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York, as wife of Thomas Edward Scatcherd.⁷
In the census of June 1900 Rebecca Blakeley Scatcherd was listed at Little Falls as wife of Thomas Edward Scatcherd.⁸

     Thomas Edward Scatcherd was born in 1853 at Kirkburton. He was the son of George Scatcherd.
Thomas Edward Scatcherd married Rebecca Blakeley Sheard, daughter of Charles Sheard and Elizabeth (?), in 1873.¹

     George Law was born in 1767. He was the son of George Law and Mary Wilby. George Law was baptized on 7 August 1767 at Birstall.¹

     Ruth Law was born in 1770. She was the daughter of George Law and Mary Wilby. Ruth Law was baptized on 8 August 1770 at Birstall.¹

     John Law was born in 1778. He was the son of George Law and Mary Wilby. John Law was baptized on 5 July 1778 at Birstall.¹

     Thomas Law was born in 1782. He was the son of George Law and Mary Wilby. Thomas Law was baptized on 22 September 1782 at Birstall.¹

     John Heywood Senior was born in 1879 at Batley.¹ He was the son of Fred Senior. In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as the son of Fred Senior at School House, Conistone.²
John Heywood Senior married Harriet Robinson in 1901 at Skipton.^3,4
In the census of 2 April 1911 he was listed as the head of household at Kettlewell as a farmer on his own account.⁵
John Heywood Senior died on 30 May 1964 at Skipton.

     Harriet Robinson married John Heywood Senior, son of Fred Senior, in 1901 at Skipton.^1,2
In the census of 2 April 1911 Harriet Senior was listed at Kettlewell as wife of John Heywood Senior.³
Harriet Robinson died on 20 June 1967.

     Henry Wildsmith was brother-in-law of Joshua Carter. He was born circa 1827 at Mirfield. He married Nancy Carter, daughter of Joshua Carter and Ann (?), on 27 August 1848.¹

He was listed in the census of 30 March 1851 at Up Lane, Batley, shop keeper of clothes.²

On 10 May 1860 Henry Wildsmith and Joshua Carter together with Joshua's son James Joshua were granted a patent:-

"for improvements in extracting wool or other animal fibres from combinations of wool and cotton or mixtures of other animal and vegetable fibrous substances or fabrics, and in the machinery or apparatus employed therein"
This was a form of the process known as carbonising.³

He was listed in the census of 7 April 1861 at Victoria St, Batley, Contractor and Shoddy Manufacturer.⁴
Henry Wildsmith died on 25 August 1870 at Carr House, Birstall; aged 44 years.⁵

     Ann (?) married Joshua Carter A marriage to Ann Day in Dewsbury on June 18th 1828 looks likely.¹
