     Thomas Bailey was born circa 1806 at Soothill. He married Susey Castle on 6 December 1829 at Dewsbury.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Hanging Heaton as a widower, a master cordwainer.²

     Ellen Bailey was born in 1834. She was the daughter of Thomas Bailey and Susey Castle. Ellen Bailey was baptized on 1 June 1834 at Hanging Heaton.¹

When Ellen and Samuel Mitchell held a large reception to celebrate their Silver Wedding in 1914, Emily Simpson and George Simpson, their daughter and son-in-law were present on a visit from America.⁷

     Elizabeth Scatcherd was born circa 1874. She was the daughter of Thomas Edward Scatcherd and Rebecca Blakeley Sheard. In the census of 3 April 1881 she was listed as aged 6 the daughter of Thomas Edward Scatcherd at Blakeridge lane, Batley.¹

     George W Scatcherd was born circa 1878. He was the son of Thomas Edward Scatcherd and Rebecca Blakeley Sheard. In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as aged 3 the son of Thomas Edward Scatcherd at Blakeridge lane, Batley.¹

     Charles Sheard was born on 27 May 1883 at New York.¹ He was the son of Charles Sheard and Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd. In 1903 Charles Sheard received a Baccalaureat from St Lawrence University.
He died in November 1963 at Minnesota at age 80.¹

     Edith Sheard was born in 1885 at New York. She was the daughter of Charles Sheard and Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd. In the census of 19 April 1910 she was listed as a supervisor, nurse, hospital the daughter of Frances Elizabeth Sheard at Canton township, St Lawrence, New York.¹

     Titus Sheard was born on 17 November 1886 at New York. He was the son of Charles Sheard and Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd. In the census of 19 April 1910 he was listed as a carpenter the son of Frances Elizabeth Sheard at Canton township, St Lawrence, New York.¹

Rebecca Victoria Sheard died on 18 August 1997 at age 101.¹

     Alfred Scatchard Sheard was born on 17 November 1898 at New York.¹ He was the son of Charles Sheard and Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd. In the census of 19 April 1910 he was listed as the son of Frances Elizabeth Sheard at Canton township, St Lawrence, New York.²

     Abraham Colbeck was born in 1836. He was the son of John Colbeck and Mary Blakeley. Abraham Colbeck was baptized on 5 June 1836 at Batley.¹

     Robert Parker married Elizabeth Senior, daughter of William Senior and Hannah Walker, on 17 September 1802 at Batley witnesses John Senior and Jeremiah Chadwick.¹

     Mary Ellen Scatcherd was born on 19 August 1854. She was the daughter of George Scatcherd.

     Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd was born on 7 August 1859 at Kirkburton, Yorkshire. She was the daughter of George Scatcherd. Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd married Charles Sheard, son of Charles Sheard and Elizabeth (?), on 7 May 1882 at Batley.¹
In the census of 19 April 1910 she was listed as the head of household at Canton township, St Lawrence, New York, as a widow living on own means.²

Frances Elizabeth Scatcherd died on 10 March 1948 at age 88.

     Samuel Ward was apparently born earlier than the date of November 27th 1857 given on an application for an US passport when he wished to return to England to visit relatives in 1920 on 27 November 1857. He was the son of Watson Ward and Mary Ann Fleming. In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the son of Watson Ward at Intack House, Batley.¹

Samuel Ward emigrated in 1893 to the USA. In the census of 15 April 1910 he was listed as the head of household at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, as a butcher.

     Jeremiah Chadwick was born in 1708. He was the son of Richard Chadwick and Mary Illingworth. Jeremiah Chadwick was baptized on 27 February 1708 at Batley.¹

     Elizabeth Spedding was born on 8 September 1840 at Batley. She was the daughter of Charles Spedding and Sarah Spedding. Elizabeth Spedding was baptized on 30 September 1840 at Hick Lane Chapel, Batley.
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as aged 8 months the daughter of Charles Spedding at Havercroft, Batley.¹

     James Bedford was born circa 1813 at Thornhill. He married Sarah Spedding, daughter of John Spedding, in 1850.¹
James Bedford died in 1851. He was buried on 4 May 1851 at Batley ; aged 38.²

     Jane Spedding was born circa 1842. She was the daughter of Charles Spedding and Sarah Spedding. Jane Spedding married William Fenton in 1860.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 Jane Fenton was listed at Wheatcroft, Batley, as wife of William Fenton.²

     George Dyson was born circa 1814. He married Sarah Colbeck, daughter of William Colbeck and Elizabeth Richardson, on 13 June 1836 at Batley Witnesses were James Sheard and George Sheard.^1,2
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as an overlooker in a woollen mill aged 36 the son-in-law of Elizabeth Colbeck.³ George Dyson married Sarah Bedford, daughter of John Spedding, in 1852.⁴

     William Fenton married Jane Spedding, daughter of Charles Spedding and Sarah Spedding, in 1860.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Wheatcroft, Batley, as a woollen spinner.²
