     James Colbeck was born on 14 May 1785.¹ He was the son of Henry Colbeck and Millicent Nowell. James Colbeck was baptized on 10 July 1785 at Batley.¹

     Henry Colbeck was born on 12 March 1776.¹ He was the son of Henry Colbeck and Millicent Nowell. Henry Colbeck was baptized on 8 April 1776 at Batley.¹

     John Colbeck was born on 26 April 1778.¹ He was the son of Henry Colbeck and Millicent Nowell. John Colbeck was baptized on 7 June 1778 at Batley.¹

     William Colbeck was born on 6 February 1783.¹ He was the son of Henry Colbeck and Millicent Nowell. William Colbeck was baptized on 20 February 1783 at Batley.¹
He married Elizabeth Richardson on 27 March 1806 at Drypool.²
William Colbeck The marriage record describes William as a soldier in the 3rd West Yorkshire Militia. In the early years of the century invasion by Napoleon was seen as a threat, though it does not appear that the 3rd West Riding saw any active seervice, but were stationed in various towns around the country.³
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft, Batley, as a grocer.⁴
William Colbeck said to have had a coal pit in a field which must have been close to where he lived. He is had to have had a flair for locating coal beds, and to have at one stage managed the Earl of Wilton's colliery. an unknown person colliery.³
He made a will on 18 April 1845 with a codicil added 2 days before his death. His wife was to have the use of 3 rooms in his house, and a weekly payment of 5 shillings, his grandson William Dyson received £20, and the rest was to be sold to provide allownces for his wife and two younger daughters. Executors were George Sheard and Benjamin Senior.³
William Colbeck died on 19 October 1849 at Havercroft, Batley, at age 66 His death certificate tells us that he died of cholera. A John Newsome was in attendance, and William's occupation was given as coal miner.³

     Alfred Beckitt was born circa 1858 at Dewsbury. He married Hannah Spedding, daughter of Michael Spedding and Susan Fox, in 1884.¹
Alfred Beckitt died on 10 April 1888.²

     Michael Spedding was born on 28 February 1834 at Huddersfield. He was the son of Robert Spedding and Elizabeth Hudson. Michael Spedding married Susan Fox, daughter of Joseph Fox and Elizabeth Farrar, on 28 March 1853 at Batley.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Field Hill, Batley, as a cloth finisher.²
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at Spring Gardens, Batley, as a confectioner, he has Robert Ainsworth, confectioner's assistant, as a boarder.³
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as the head of household at Field Lane, Batley, as a Bone setter and baker. Has two boarders, Alfred Beckett and John Thomas Rogan, listed as bakers.⁴
In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as the head of household at Whitaker Street, Batley, as a Bone setter.⁵
In addition to bone-setting Michael advertised a medicament for piles, "Spedding's Easelip."⁶
Michael Spedding married Eliza Pickles on 10 February 1896 at Dewsbury.⁷
Michael Spedding died on 29 September 1927 at Batley at age 93.

     Susan Fox was born on 1 May 1834 at Batley. She was the daughter of Joseph Fox and Elizabeth Farrar. Susan Fox was baptized on 6 July 1834 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as aged 7 in the household of Joseph Fox at Havercroft, Batley.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a rag sorter aged 16 the daughter of Joseph Fox at Havercroft, Batley.³
Susan Fox married Michael Spedding, son of Robert Spedding and Elizabeth Hudson, on 28 March 1853 at Batley.¹

     Joseph Fox was born on 5 December 1804 at Batley. He was the son of James Fox and Jane Castle. Joseph Fox was baptized on 16 December 1804 at Batley.¹
He married Elizabeth Farrar on 3 April 1826 at Batley witnesses were Jo Chadwick and David Sheard.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft, Batley, as a wool carder.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft, Batley, as a spinner.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Bankfoot, Batley, as a spinner at woollen factory.⁴

He married Jane Castle, daughter of Joseph Castle and Sarah Hey, on 27 July 1795 at Dewsbury.
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft, Batley, as a woollen weaver.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at 172 J Ward's Hill, Batley, as a cloth weaver aged 74.²
James Fox died in 1856. He was buried on 19 November 1856 at Batley ; aged 79.³

     Jane Castle was born in 1775 at Dewsbury. She was the daughter of Joseph Castle and Sarah Hey. Jane Castle married James Fox, son of Martin Fox and Sarah Pickles, on 27 July 1795 at Dewsbury.
Jane Fox died in 1836. She was buried on 23 June 1836 at Batley ; aged 61.¹

     Eliza Pickles nee Pickles but Blakeley at marriage to Spedding. She was born on 27 December 1840 at Dewsbury. She married George Blakeley, son of John Blakeley and Mary Sheard, in 1859.¹

Eliza Pickles married Michael Spedding, son of Robert Spedding and Elizabeth Hudson, on 10 February 1896 at Dewsbury.²

     Hannah King was born in 1778. She was the daughter of William King. Hannah King married James Pyrah, son of James Pyrah and Jemima Sheard, on 1 November 1798 at Birstall.¹
Hannah King died in 1849 at Birkenshaw. She was buried on 13 January 1849 at Whitechapel, Cleckheaton.

     Grace Wood married Joseph Gledhill on 15 April 1745 at Batley.¹

     Alice Colbeck was born in 1779. She was the daughter of John Colbeck and Grace Beaumont. Alice Colbeck was baptized on 14 November 1779 at Batley.¹

     Joah Pyrah was born on 15 December 1798. He was the son of James Pyrah and Hannah King. Joah Pyrah was baptized on 27 January 1799 at Batley.¹

     John Pyrah was born on 11 March 1800. He was the son of James Pyrah and Hannah King. John Pyrah was baptized on 27 March 1800 at Batley.¹
He died in 1802. He was buried on 28 October 1802 at Batley.¹

     Sarah Pyrah was born in 1802. She was the daughter of James Pyrah and Hannah King. Sarah Pyrah was baptized on 22 August 1802 at Birstall.
She died in 1814 at East Bierley. She was buried on 11 March 1814 at Whitechapel, Cleckheaton.

     William King Pyrah was born in 1804. He was the son of James Pyrah and Hannah King. William King Pyrah was baptized on 16 September 1804.¹
He married Jane Brooke on 27 November 1825 at Birstall.²

     Hannah Pyrah was born in 1810. She is the daughter of James Pyrah and Hannah King.

     Joshua Pyrah was born on 16 February 1816. He was the son of James Pyrah and Hannah King. Joshua Pyrah was baptized on 14 July 1816 at Birstall.
He married Mary Stubley on 20 April 1839 at Huddersfield.
