In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as as a woollen piecer the son of Squire Senior at New Batley.2
Francis Senior married Mary Sheard, daughter of David Sheard and Martha Talbot, on 17 September 1848 at Batley.1
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at New Road, Batley, as a spinner.3
Francis Senior was to follow his sister Isabella and her husband Jeremiah Mitchell who had emigrated to America in 1855.4 Francis and Mary emigrated on 18 August 1856 sailing on the Ontario from Liverpool with their two children and Mary's half-brother; Matilda Senior, James S Senior and Titus Sheard .Titus went with them, apparently, as a last minute decision at his pleading. They landed at Castle Garden, New York on September 29th after a 6 week voyage.5
Francis Senior was joined by another sister Ellen Bailey and her husband Charles Bailey in 1857 at Little Falls, New York.6 In the census of 7 July 1860 he was listed as the head of household at Little Falls, Herkimer, New York, as a factory hand.7
Francis Senior died in 1864.8
