     Thomas Hirst was born in 1790 at Dewsbury. He was the son of Job Hirst and Christiana Carr. Thomas Hirst was baptized on 5 April 1790 at Dewsbury.¹

Thomas, James Hall's brother-in-law, is likely to have been the Thomas Hirst Willans associated with Purlwell Mill
; said to have been the builder of Purlwell Mill, though Willans associated him with his brothers and also Robert Brearley senior and.² In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Purlwell, Batley, as independent. there is a female servant, Mary Farnhill aged 15.³
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Purlwell, Batley, as a proprietor of houses. there is a female servant, Christiana Harrison aged 17.⁴
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as a proprietor of houses living with his widowed sister Martha Hall at Purlwell, Batley.⁵

     Sarah Elizabeth Colbeck was born in 1850 at Batley. She was the daughter of William Henry Colbeck and Martha Cordingley. In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as aged 10 months the daughter of William Henry Colbeck at Cheapside, New Road, Batley.¹
She was listed in the census of 7 April 1861 as a boarder at the Moravian School, Gomersal.²
In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as the daughter of William Henry Colbeck at West House, Bradford Road, Gomersal.³
Sarah Elizabeth Colbeck married Alexander Young Hay on 21 May 1884 at St Mary's Church, Parnell, Auckland.⁴

Emma Colbeck married William Henry Sykes in 1863.³
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as as a widow the daughter of Elizabeth Colbeck at Bath Street, Batley.
In the census of 31 March 1901 she was listed as a widow aged 57 the daughter of Elizabeth Colbeck at 3 Bath Street, Batley.⁴

     Matilda Colbeck was born circa 1839 at Batley. She was the daughter of Isaac Colbeck and Elizabeth Ineson.

Thomas Colbeck died on 23 March 1883 at Broomfield House, Batley.⁵

     Charlotte Blakeley was born in 1831 at Batley. She was the daughter of John Blakeley and Mary Sheard. Charlotte Blakeley was baptized on 13 November 1831 at Batley.¹

     John Blakeley was born in 1861. He was the son of George Blakeley and Eliza Pickles. In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as as infant aged 5 days the son of George Blakeley at New Scarborough, Batley.
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as a cloth finisher aged 20 the son of George Blakeley at Queen Street, Batley.

     Eliza Oldroyd was born on 22 October 1837.¹ She was the daughter of Mark Oldroyd and Rachel Fox. Eliza Oldroyd was baptized on 27 December 1837 at Dewsbury.^1,2
She married George Stanhope Blakeley, son of George Blakeley and Elizabeth Crawshaw, in 1861.¹
In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as in the household of George Stanhope Blakeley at Springfiedl Terrace, Dewsbury.³
Eliza Blakeley died on 16 May 1911 at Wismar, Germany, at age 73.¹

      Ellen Spedding was also known as Ellenor Spedding. She was born in 1813. She was baptized on 28 July 1813 at Dewsbury.¹
She was the daughter of William Spedding and Hannah (?). In the census of 6 June 1841 she was listed as aged 25 in the household of Hannah (?) at Batley.²
Ellen Spedding married Titus Bruce on 17 October 1849.³

     Sarah Jane Spedding was born in 1816 at Dewsbury. She was the daughter of William Spedding and Hannah (?). Sarah Jane Spedding was baptized on 26 July 1816 at Dewsbury.¹
She married William Fenton on 26 December 1836 at Batley witnesses were David and James Sheard.²

     Nancy Burn was born circa 1805 at Stamford, Lincolnshire. She married Abraham Farrar, son of Joseph Farrar and Ruth Drake, on 8 July 1824 at Batley.¹

     Jonah Drake Farrar was born in 1835 at Batley. He was the son of Abraham Farrar and Nancy Burn. Jonah Drake Farrar was baptized on 7 June 1835 at Batley.¹

     Hannah Farrar was born in 1831 at Batley. She was the daughter of Abraham Farrar and Nancy Burn. Hannah Farrar married William Fox in 1850.

     Sarah Senior was born circa 1865 at Batley. She was the daughter of Samuel Senior and Elizabeth Brearley. In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as aged 2 the daughter of Samuel Senior at Albert Terrace, Batley.¹
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as aged 25 the daughter of Elizabeth Senior at "The Rookery", Batley.²

     Joshua Exley Stubley was born on 10 March 1861 at Batley Carr. He was the son of Mark Stubley and Elizabeth Exley. In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as aged 1 month the son of Mark Stubley at 326 Upper Road, Dewsbury.¹
Joshua Exley Stubley was baptized on 1 September 1861 at Batley.²
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as a scholar the son of Mark Stubley at Upper Road, Dewsbury.³
Joshua Exley Stubley emigrated in 1884 to New South Wales, Australia, on an assisted passage on the "Selkirkshire."⁴ In 1930 Joshua Exley Stubley was was living at 11 Eurimble Street, Randwick, South Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, and described as of no occupation.⁵

     Letitia Talbot Stubley was born on 26 December 1860. She was the daughter of James Stubley and Martha Colbeck. Letitia Talbot Stubley was baptized on 3 March 1861 at Batley.¹

     Martha Crowther was born circa 1855 at Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Crowther and Hannah Mortimer. In the census of 24 July 1860 she was listed as aged 5 in the household of Jeremiah Crowther at Philadelphia.¹

     Leonard Blackburn Cartridge was born in 1891 at Darwen, Lancashire. He was the son of Shem Carter Cartridge and Charlotte Hannah Blackburn. In the census of 31 March 1901 he was listed as aged 9 the son of Shem Carter Cartridge at Soothill Lane (Westbury Terace), Soothill.¹

     Margaret Augusta D Cartridge was born circa 1894 at Darwen, Lancashire. She was the daughter of Shem Carter Cartridge and Charlotte Hannah Blackburn. In the census of 31 March 1901 she was listed as aged 7 the daughter of Shem Carter Cartridge at Soothill Lane (Westbury Terace), Soothill.¹

     Henry Roberts was born circa 1850 at Batley. He was the son of Jesse Roberts and Jane Wilson. In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as aged 1 the son of Jesse Roberts.¹

     Benjamin Buckley was born circa 1819 at Leeds. He married Mary Blakeley, daughter of Abraham Blakeley and Martha Colbeck, on 11 November 1838 at Wakefield I believe this to be Mary Blakeley born 1819 as in the 1861 census a George Buckley is living with her sister Sarah as nephew.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Havercroft North side, Batley, a hand loom weaver aged 32.²
