     Sarah Parker was born circa 1850 at Lancashire. She married James Walmsley in 1866.¹

     Robert Jackson was born circa 1820 at Thorne. He married Jane Knowles Burnley, daughter of Samuel Burnley and Betty Knowles, on 7 December 1866 at the Parish Church, Dewsbury.
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at Batley as a grocer ansd general dealer.
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as the head of household at Russell St, Batley, as a commission agent.¹

     Alice Ineson was born on 2 August 1803 at Batley.¹ She was the daughter of Barnabas Ineson and Tabitha Gledhill.¹ Alice Ineson was baptized on 18 September 1803 at Batley This entry is as daughter of Benjamin and Tabitha, but with grandfathers as for children of Barnabas and Tabitha. I think it may be a mistake in the records, though Barnabas did have a brother Benjamin.¹
She married John Roberts on 8 May 1822 at Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 Alice Ineson was listed as wife of John Roberts.²

     John Roberts was born on 29 December 1803. He was baptized on 29 January 1804 at Hunslet.
He married Alice Ineson, daughter of Barnabas Ineson and Tabitha Gledhill, on 8 May 1822 at Batley.¹
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household as a coal miner/master employing 11 men and 10 boys.²

     Israel Roberts was born in 1827 at Stanningley.¹ He married Sarah Harrison on 10 June 1851 at the Parish Church, Calverley.^2,1

     Jesse Roberts was born circa 1828 at Leeds. He married Jane Wilson, daughter of Robert Wilson and Hannah Sheard, in 1846.^1,2

     Samuel Burnley was born circa 1843 at Batley. He was the son of Samuel Burnley and Betty Knowles. In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as a woollen manufacturer the son of Samuel Burnley at Albert Terrace, Batley.¹
Samuel Burnley married Sarah Jane Wilkinson in 1863.

     Rev Edward Nicholl Carter was born circa 1800 at Lightcliffe. He married Susanna Wooler, daughter of Robert Wooler and Sarah Maud Upton.
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at the Parsonage, Heckmondwike, as perpetual curate of Heckmondwike.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the head of household at Church lane, Stanningley, Heckmondwike, as a parsonage curate.²
In the census of 2 April 1871 he was listed as the head of household at Strawberrie Square, Heckmondwike, as curate of Heckmondwike.

     Ellen M Carter was born in 1834 at Mirfield. She was the daughter of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter and Susanna Wooler.
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as the daughter of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter at Church lane, Stanningley, Heckmondwike.¹
Ellen M Carter and her sister Catherine Elizabeth Carter, nieces of Margaret Wooler who had taught Charlotte Bronte at Roe Head, were listed as headmistresses of a school in the census of 2 April 1871 at Oakwell Hall, Birstall, Their pupils included Ada Maria Blakeley, Fanny Sheard and Mary Ellen Critchley.²

     Thomas Allbutt married Mary Ann Wooler, daughter of Robert Wooler and Sarah Maud Upton, on 9 July 1835 at Mirfield.^1,2

     John Carter was born circa 1832 at Mirfield. He was the son of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter and Susanna Wooler. In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as the son of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter at Church lane, Stanningley, Heckmondwike.¹

     Susan Margaret Carter was born in 1837 at Mirfield. She was the daughter of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter and Susanna Wooler. Susan Margaret Carter was baptized on 2 August 1837 at Mirfield.¹

In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as the daughter of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter at the Parsonage, Heckmondwike.²
In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as aged 33 the daughter of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter at Strawberrie Square, Heckmondwike.
In the census of 3 April 1881 Susan Margaret Carter and her sister Catherine Elizabeth Carter were listed at Oakwell Hall, Birstall, as schoolmistresses. There were only four pupils present at this time, but also present were a cook and a German governess.³

In 1882 Susan, in bed in the chamber above the parlour, had an unpleasant awakening when a gale brought down a chimney at Oakwell, crashing through the roof and floor below. She landed on top of a grand piano, and lay there for some time with heavy debris falling around her. Forunately, though severely shaken, there seems to have been no lasting injury.The design of the ceiling had earlier been recorded by her cousin Max William Blakeley.⁴
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as the head of household at Oakwell Hall, Birstall, as head of a Ladies School. Despite this of the eight pupils present one is male. Also present are a teacher of French and German and a cook and housemaid.⁵

     Catherine Elizabeth Carter was born circa 1839 at Lothersdale. She was the daughter of Rev Edward Nicholl Carter and Susanna Wooler.

     George Markham Tweddell was born on 20 March 1823.¹
He married Elizabeth Cole on 31 December 1843 at the Parish Church, Stokesley.
George was a printer and publisher in Stokesley, and a prolific writer and poet as was his wife. His works included "The Bards and Authors of Cleveland and South Durham" and many poems about Freemasonry.¹
George Markham Tweddell also went by the name of Peter Proletarious by way of pen name. George's wife Elizabeth was also a poet who wrote in the Cleveland dialect under the pen name of Florence Cleveland. He His sympathies lay with the working man and the Chartist movement.
For some years he and Elizabeth ran an "Industrial School" in Bury, but returned to Stokesley when the School was closed.
By 1877 Isaac Binns must have been acquainted with George for he was one of those who contributed to the "Purse of Gold" raised to assist the Tweddells at a time of financial hardship.¹
In November 1881 George Markham Tweddell wrote to Isaac Binns with a biography of his wife, Elizabeth, whose work Isaac must have been interested in publishing.
George Markham Tweddell contributed a poem to Isaac Binns's obituary.

     Hannah Stubley was born in 1850. She was the daughter of Mark Stubley and Elizabeth Exley. In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as aged 5 months the daughter of Mark Stubley.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 she was listed as aged 10 the daughter of Mark Stubley at 326 Upper Road, Dewsbury.²
Hannah Stubley married Samuel Cookman, son of John Cookman and Grace Smith, in 1871.^3,4
In the census of 2 April 1871 she was listed as a woollen cloth weaver the daughter of Mark Stubley at Upper Road, Dewsbury.⁵

     Elizabeth Dyson was born in 1791 at Thornhill. She was the daughter of Daniel Dyson. Elizabeth Dyson married Richard Micklethwaite on 6 November 1817 at Mirfield.¹
Elizabeth Micklethwaite married George Stubley, son of Mark Stubley and Sally Pyrah, on 3 August 1840 at Batley She was married as Elizabeth Micklethwaite, widow, daughter of Daniel Dyson, weaver. Witnesses were Thomas Stogdale and Joshua Porrit.²
In the census of 6 June 1841 Elizabeth Stubley was listed at Havercroft, Batley, as wife of George Stubley.³

     Isabel Crowther was born on 8 June 1851.¹ She was the daughter of Jeremiah Crowther and Hannah Mortimer.¹ In the census of 24 July 1860 she was listed as aged 9 in the household of Jeremiah Crowther at Philadelphia.²

     Sarah Crowther was born on 5 July 1841 at Bristol Twp, Pennsylvania.¹ She was the daughter of Jeremiah Crowther and Hannah Mortimer. In the census of 27 August 1850 she was listed as aged 9 in the household of Jeremiah Crowther at Philadelphia.²
In the census of 24 July 1860 she was listed as a weaver aged 19 in the household of Jeremiah Crowther at Philadelphia.³
Sarah Crowther married Nathan Thorpe.
In the census of 3 June 1880 Sarah Thorpe was listed at Darby Township, Delaware, Pennsylvania, as wife of Nathan Thorpe.⁴

      Elizabeth Mortimer Crowther was also known as Lizzie Stehr. She was born on 1 December 1845 at Pennsylvania, USA.¹ She was the daughter of Jeremiah Crowther and Hannah Mortimer. In the census of 27 August 1850 she was listed as aged 4 in the household of Jeremiah Crowther at Philadelphia.²
In the census of 24 July 1860 she was listed as a weaver aged 14 in the household of Jeremiah Crowther at Philadelphia.³
Elizabeth Mortimer Crowther married Edward Stehr on 26 October 1863 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.¹
Elizabeth Mortimer Crowther was listed on the census of 1 June 1880 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as keeping house, her parents shown as born in England, wife of Edward Stehr.⁴

Lizzie Stehr was cousin to Isaac Binns and I was charmed to hear from Jeannie Muller that her copy of "From Village to Town" was one that he gave to Lizzie.⁵

     Edward Stehr was born circa 1838. He married Elizabeth Mortimer Crowther, daughter of Jeremiah Crowther and Hannah Mortimer, on 26 October 1863 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.¹
He was listed as in Segar(?) manufacturing, the head of household in the 1 June 1880 census at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, He gives his parent's birthplaces as Germany. One servant is kept.²

     William Wilkinson was born circa 1837 at Batley. He was the son of Abraham Wilkinson and Mary Preston. In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the son of Abraham Wilkinson at Carlinghow, Batley.¹

     Lucy Wooler was born circa 1845 at Soothill. She was the daughter of James Upton Wooler and Anne Sykes. In the census of 30 March 1851 she was listed as a scholar at home the daughter of James Upton Wooler at Rouse Mill, Soothill.¹

     Frederick Sykes Wooler was born circa 1849 at Soothill. He was the son of James Upton Wooler and Anne Sykes. In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the son of James Upton Wooler at Rouse Mill, Soothill.¹
George Ernest B Blakeley, his cousin's son, was articled to him Frederick Sykes Wooler
; He was articled to his Mother's cousin.²

     William Moore Wooler was born on 10 October 1851.¹ He was the son of James Upton Wooler and Anne Sykes. William Moore Wooler was baptized on 6 November 1851 at Dewsbury.¹
