     Mark Oldroyd married Rachel Fox, daughter of Marmaduke Fox and Sarah Fox, on 20 January 1823 at Dewsbury.1
Founder of the firm of M Oldroyd and sons, Dewsbury Mark Oldroyd was said to have retired in in 1859 and the firm was initially carried on by his elder sons George and John.
He died in December 1875; aged 77.

George Eayrs

     George Eayrs was born in 1864. He was the officiating Minister. He was the author of several books on Methodism, including "A History of Zion Church, Batley, and the Churches of the United Methodist Batley Circuit" published in 1909 This makes mention of the eighteenth century history of Methoodism in the district, of visits by Wesley himself and the work of his followers including John Nelson of Birstall, Mostly, though, it is an account of the origins of these Churches themselves, with accounts of some of those local people who were their stalwarts.1 He died in 1926.
