     Mark Pyrah age from tombstone. He was born in 1781 at Soothill. He was the son of Joseph Pyrah and Elizabeth Gledhill. Mark Pyrah was baptized on 4 June 1781 at Dewsbury.
He married Elizabeth Hardcastle, daughter of John Hardcastle and Jane Preston, on 25 July 1799 at Batley witnesses Wm Gledhill and Jeremiah Pyrah.¹
Mark Pyrah witnessed the marriage of Mary Thompson and Jeremiah Pyrah on 11 April 1803 at Batley.¹ In 1813 Mark Pyrah was probably the Mark Pyrah, described as a blanket manufacturer of Clerk Green, who spent some time in Rothwell Gaol as an insolvent debtor. Ther was some dispute about his share in a mill at Clerk Green.²
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as the head of household at Clerk Green, Batley, as a woollen lab.³
In the census of 30 March 1851 he was listed as the head of household at Clerk Green, Batley, as a widower aged 69, late overlooker, woollen mill.⁴
He died on 23 March 1852 at Batley. He was buried on 25 March 1852 at Batley ; aged 70, of Clerk Green.¹

     Mary Pyrah was born in 1783. She was the daughter of Joseph Pyrah and Elizabeth Gledhill. Mary Pyrah was baptized on 9 June 1783 at Dewsbury.

     Elizabeth Newsome was born circa 1799 at Batley. She married George Pyrah, son of Joseph Pyrah and Elizabeth Gledhill, on 11 May 1818 at Parish Church, Batley, John Newsome witness: this marriage seems likely as Pyrah's were living close to Newsomes.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 Elizabeth Pyrah was listed at Chapel Fold, Batley, as wife of George Pyrah.²
In the census of 30 March 1851 Elizabeth Pyrah was listed at Chapel Fold, Batley, as wife of George Pyrah.³
In the census of 7 April 1861 Elizabeth Pyrah was listed at Upper Chapel Fold, Batley, as wife of George Pyrah.⁴

     Rebecca Simon was the daughter of James Simon. Rebecca Simon married David Pyrah, son of Joshua Pyrah and Sarah Beaumont, on 18 July 1784 at Batley witnesses Joseph Spink(?), John Chadwick.¹
Rebecca Simon died in 1836 at Heckmondwike. She was buried on 22 May 1836 at Batley.¹

     Colbeck Blakeley was born in 1835. He was the son of Samuel Blakeley and Sarah Berry. Colbeck Blakeley was baptized on 16 August 1835 at Batley.¹
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as aged 5 the son of Samuel Blakeley at Old Bar House, Batley.²

     Robert Blakeley was born on 30 March 1837. He was the son of Samuel Blakeley and Sarah Berry. Robert Blakeley was baptized on 30 April 1837 at Zion Chapel.
In the census of 6 June 1841 he was listed as aged 4 the son of Samuel Blakeley at Old Bar House, Batley.¹

     Richard Newsome was born in 1767. He was the son of Squire Newsome and Mary Scarfe. Richard Newsome was baptized on 7 June 1767 at Batley.
He married Mary Dixon, daughter of Joseph Dixon, on 6 January 1793 at Birmingham.

     Mally Newsome was born in 1771. She was the daughter of Squire Newsome and Mary Scarfe. Mally Newsome was baptized on 26 December 1771 at Batley.¹

     Lydia Newsome was born in 1774. She was the daughter of Squire Newsome and Mary Scarfe. Lydia Newsome was baptized on 27 March 1774 at Batley.¹
She died in 1780. She was buried on 9 December 1780 at Batley.¹

     Elizabeth Shackleton was the daughter of John Shackleton. Elizabeth Shackleton married Thomas Newsome, son of Squire Newsome and Mary Scarfe, on 24 June 1783 at Dewsbury Thomas was described as of Batley.¹

     Lydia Newsome was born in 1784. She was the daughter of Thomas Newsome and Elizabeth Shackleton. Lydia Newsome was baptized on 13 April 1784 at Batley.

     George Armitage Robinson was born on 2 September 1887.¹ He was the son of Christopher Thurman Robinson and Elizabeth Armitage. George Armitage Robinson was baptized on 23 October 1887 at Batley.¹

In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as aged 3 the son of Christopher Thurman Robinson at Croft House, Purlwell Lane, Batley.²
In the census of 31 March 1901 he was listed as aged 13 the son of Christopher Thurman Robinson at 78 Purlwell Lane, Batley.³

     Annie Robinson was born on 1 February 1884.¹ She was the daughter of Christopher Thurman Robinson and Elizabeth Armitage. Annie Robinson was baptized on 2 March 1884 at Batley.¹
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as a scholar aged 7 the daughter of Christopher Thurman Robinson at Croft House, Purlwell Lane, Batley.²

     Elizabeth Armitage was born on 22 September 1880; according to my uncle's notes there was a Lizzie and perhaps others who died young.¹ She was the daughter of Christopher Thurman Robinson and Elizabeth Armitage. Elizabeth Armitage was baptized on 17 October 1880 at Batley.¹
She died on 26 November 1885 at Purlwell, Batley, at age 5; aged 5 years 2 months.²

     John Robinson was born on 28 January 1878 at Batley.¹ He was the son of Christopher Thurman Robinson and Elizabeth Armitage. In the census of 5 April 1891 he was listed as a sholar aged 13 the son of Christopher Thurman Robinson at Croft House, Purlwell Lane, Batley.²

     Sarah Ann Walker was born in 1833. She was baptized on 18 August 1833 at Batley.¹
She was the daughter of John Walker and Martha Harrison. Sarah Ann Walker married George Armitage Robinson, son of John Robinson and Sarah Thurman, on 28 July 1851 at Batley.¹
In the census of 2 April 1871 Sarah Ann Robinson was listed at Purlwell Lane, Batley, as wife of George Armitage Robinson.²
In the census of 3 April 1881 Sarah Ann Robinson was listed at Purlwell Lane, Batley, as wife of George Armitage Robinson.³
In the census of 5 April 1891 she was listed as the head of household at 43 Cobden Street, Batley, a rag sorter. There is also a boarder, Emily Jubb, a woollen weaver aged 19.⁴

     Mary Jane Robinson was born on 31 August 1857. She was the daughter of George Armitage Robinson and Sarah Ann Walker. Mary Jane Robinson was baptized on 7 February 1858 at Batley.¹

     James William Booth was born on 6 March 1857.¹ He was the son of Charles Booth and Mary (?). James William Booth was baptized on 20 September 1857 at Batley.¹
In the census of 7 April 1861 he was listed as a scholar aged 4 the son of Charles Booth at Beck Side Road, Batley.²
James William Booth married Mary Jane Robinson, daughter of George Armitage Robinson and Sarah Ann Walker, on 26 July 1879 at Batley.^3,1
In the census of 3 April 1881 he was listed as a mason aged 24 the son-in-law of George Armitage Robinson.⁴

     Cassandra Williamson married George Armitage Robinson, son of Christopher Thurman Robinson and Elizabeth Armitage, in 1920.

     Mary Brown was born circa 1837 at Birstall. She married Leonard Stubley, son of John Stubley and Martha Easton, on 25 February 1859 at The Registry Office, Gomersal, (Mary identified from fact that she was visiting her parents with son George Henry at the time of the 1861 census).¹
In the census of 2 April 1871 Mary Stubley was listed at Wellington St., Batley, as wife of Leonard Stubley.²

     James Stubley was born. He was the son of Leonard Stubley and Mary Brown.

     Thomas James Stubley was born in 1868. He was the son of Leonard Stubley and Mary Brown. Thomas James Stubley was baptized on 10 September 1876 at Batley.¹

     Abraham Whewell was born in 1635 at Heckmondwike. He was the son of John Wheywell and Elizabeth Hepworth. Abraham Whewell was baptized on 8 March 1634/35 at Birstall as son of John Whewell of Heckmondwike.¹
He married Susan Hudswell on 28 April 1659 at Birstall.¹
In 1672 Abraham Whewell was possibly the Abraham Whewell who paid Hearth Tax for one hearth in Heckmondwike.
